Promoting the city-state for political change and thinking in 3D for design.
City-State 3D is a noncommercial creative hobby inviting every human being to contemplate the possibilities of the city-state, if they choose to. No particular model of sovereignty or local autonomy, political conclusion, or level of participation is prescribed.
Thinking in Three Dimensions
How might we make better use of the spaces above, at, within, and below our cities? A rooftop might inspire questions about gardens or future flying-car access; a parking lot could become a flexible public space; a shopping center could host more kinds of activities; buildings could have additional stories or useful basements. These are invitations to imagine and research—not claims of engineering feasibility.
Four Civilizational Goals
Jesse Ryan Jensen’s four unnumbered goals provide another frame of reference. They are optional inspirations for personal reflection, conversation, and creativity:
- Shelter And Necessities For All
- All-Purpose Environmentalism
- Websites Of The Future
- Human Civilization On Mars
Independent Local Workshops
People might independently organize workshops to create 3D models, visual art, maps, research, or other information suitable for consideration at city council meetings. Such gatherings could encourage more interactive city planning among decision makers, citizens, and potential visitors. Participation and hosting are equally valuable and voluntary.
Potential hosts include people from community colleges, architects, engineers, cooperative and crowdfunding communities, city-simulation game developers, and video creators. Workshops are possibilities, not announced events or institutional partnerships.
Research, Ideas, and Conversation
Ideas can arise through workshops, independent research, video comments, and conversations. We distinguish researched information from creative speculation. Co-op & Crowdfund topics are optional; no participant needs to start a business, raise funds, or make political commitments.
City-State 3D is a personal, noncommercial hobby. Its purpose is inspiration, civic curiosity, 3D design, and the free exchange of potentially helpful information.
